Erin Battison L.Ac., – received her Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, one of the most prominent and rigorous O.M. colleges in the United States. She graduated after completing more than 3,500 class hours and 1,000 hours of clinical experience and case evaluation in Biomedicine, Acupuncture, Chinese Herbology, as well as other adjunctive therapies used to treat physical and mental diseases.
Previously, Erin earned her B.A. from Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame where she went on to work in environmental policy (water and organic agriculture) and related business development. At a very early age, Erin adopted her family’s rich traditions and passion for food and wellbeing. She blended her acumen in business and environmental science by developing some of the first organic food service in Chicago, in addition to practical family meal planning and cooking lesson services.
Driven to spend many years understanding the biochemistry of the “outer landscape” of our environment, she pursued a formal medical education to understand the “inner landscape” of the body. She maintains a deep appreciation for how intricately intertwined the “inner” and “outer” landscapes are in determining health. She believes that by diligently tending to both, vibrant states of health and happiness really can be achieved. Erin has a unique and invaluable blend of knowledge when it comes to practical lifestyle planning that she applies clinically.
As a practitioner who has worked and traveled extensively, Erin aims to live the fundamental principals behind Chinese Medicine. She is dedicated to the idea that creating balance consists of overall wellness, and a life well and happily lived within the given parameters of ones’ own circumstances. Erin places great emphasis on the practitioner/patient relationship. She creates a space where a patient can feel heard, understood and attended to. She believes a medically integrative approach to health is most beneficial in living life optimally.
